About AccurateCount
AccurateCount was founded after working with hundreds of independent retailers across America and seeing the same problem repeat itself: POS systems filled with products stores no longer carry, and shelves stocked with items not recorded in their inventory software. These inaccuracies lead to lost profits, wasted time, and prevent retailers from moving forward with new sales opportunities.
When inventory isn't accurate, business owners can't confidently restock, reduce shrinkage, or expand to digital sales channels. We've seen stores miss out on tens of thousands of dollars a year simply because their inventory data was outdated or incomplete. Our mission is to help small businesses get organized, stay profitable, and unlock new growth—whether that's through better in-store inventory management or preparing for online expansion.
At AccurateCount, we start by providing hands-on, on-site inventory counts and updating your POS system so it matches what's actually in your store. As we grow, we are committed to evolving our services and plan to introduce advanced technology, including AI-powered tools, to help local retailers simplify inventory management and stay competitive in a digital world.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the benefit of doing an inventory count?
The primary benefit is accuracy. Knowing exactly what you have in stock is the foundation of a profitable retail business. An accurate count allows you to reduce shrinkage by identifying missing products, increase profitability by restocking best-sellers confidently, and unlock e-commerce opportunities, as accurate data is required to sell online.
Will this disrupt my daily business operations?
We understand that you can't afford to close your doors. We are flexible and schedule our counts to cause minimal to no disruption to your business. This often means working early in the morning, late in the evening after you close, or during your store's slowest periods.
How long does a typical inventory count take?
For a standard store with 3,000 to 7,000 unique SKUs, the on-site physical count is typically completed within 4 to 6 hours. The subsequent POS system update and reconciliation are often finished within 48 to 72 hours, depending on the complexity of your system.
What POS systems can you work with?
We have direct experience with many of the most common POS systems in retail, including Square, Lightspeed, Clover, Shopify POS, Cash Register Express, NRS, and Heartland. However, our process is adaptable to virtually any system that allows for inventory adjustments either manually or through a CSV file import.
What exactly do I receive after the service is complete?
You receive two key deliverables: 1) Your Point-of-Sale system's inventory is updated to reflect the true stock on your shelves, giving you immediate confidence in your data. 2) A complete digital copy of the final count in a spreadsheet format for your records.
How does your pricing work?
Our pricing is straightforward and based on the estimated number of unique SKUs and the general size of your store. After a brief, no-obligation consultation to understand your needs, we provide a firm, flat-rate quote so there are no surprises. Our goal is to provide a service that quickly pays for itself.
